2017 Kia Sportage’s Safety Put to the Test
If safety is a top priority for you when choosing a new vehicle, then consider the all-new 2017 Kia Sportage. Recently, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) put the Kia Sportage’s safety to the test and the Sportage came away with Top Safety Pick Plus honors.
To earn this designation, the Sportage received the top “Good” rating in all crash tests, including the difficult small overlap front test. The Sportage also received a “Superior” rating for front crash prevention.
“The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is one of the most recognized and respected organizations in the industry when it comes to evaluating vehicle safety, and as such, the Top Safety Pick Plus designation is a significant achievement,” said Orth Hedrick, vice president, product planning, KMA, in a statement. “We are especially proud to have our all-new Sportage earn that TSP+ rating in light of IIHS’ new, more challenging standards, validating the efforts of our engineers and the priority we place on safety.”
The 2017 Sportage comes with a suite of available safety features including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning System, Blind Spot Detection with Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and more.
