J.D. Power 2017 Initial Quality Report
The J.D. Power 2017 Initial Quality Report is here and, as always, Kia performed particularly well among new vehicle owners. Here’s what the J.D. Power 2017 Initial Quality Report discovered about new Kia drivers*. In short, Kia has now received more J.D. Power Initial Quality awards than any other brand*.
In all, Kia vehicles were named the ‘Highest Ranked Large Car, Compact Car, Small SUV, Midsize SUV, and Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle in Initial Quality*.’
That’s quite a mouthful, so let’s break it down vehicle by vehicle.
The 2017 Kia Forte stole the spotlight as the ‘Highest Ranked Compact Car in Initial Quality*.’ New vehicle owners experienced 75 problems per 100 vehicles.
The 2017 Kia Niro, an all-new crossover, earned the honor of ‘Highest Ranked Small SUV in Initial Quality*.’ It narrowly beat its sibling, the 2017 Kia Sportage.
The 2017 Kia Soul was named the ‘Highest Ranked Multi-Purpose Vehicle in Initial Quality, 3 Years in a Row *.’ New vehicle owners experienced just 68 problems per 100 vehicles. That’s 30 problems less than the segment average.
The 2017 Kia Cadenza was redesigned for the model year. It proved its worth by earning the honor of ‘Highest Ranked Large Car in Initial Quality*.’
Finally, the 2017 Kia Sorento was named the ‘Highest Ranked Midsize SUV in Initial Quality, 2 out of 3 Years in a Row*.’
