2018 Kia Stinger Named North American Car of the Year Finalist
The 2018 Kia Stinger jumped through a lot of hoops to become the performance-driven sports sedan that it is today. The power-packed model was designed in Frankfurt and developed on Germany’s most notorious racing track. All that hard work paid off as the Kia Stinger made it as a finalist for the North American Car of the Year Award.
“Today marks an important milestone in Kia’s history and the jurors’ acknowledgement of Stinger’s world-class style, performance and value honors the global research, development and planning teams that ushered the Stinger from concept car dream to reality,” said Justin Sohn, president and CEO, Kia Motors America.
The 2018 Kia Stinger boasts two powerful engines. The range-topping 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine blasts off the starting line with a thrilling 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. Sporty styling and an intimidating front end make the upscale sedan stand out from the crowd.
The North American Car of the Year Award was founded in 1994. 60 automotive journalists from the United State and Canada gather to evaluate the latest models and determine the top contenders. From there, jurors determine the finalists based on their innovation, design, handling, and overall value, just to name a few factors.
We here at Crown Kia of Tyler are proud to have the 2018 Kia Stinger ready to roll on a test drive for you.
