More Kia Stinger Variants a Possibility
The Sport Sedan For You
The Kia Stinger is taking the sport sedan segment by storm, and for good reason. Its impressive performance, a plethora of premium amenities, and style have made it a top choice among drivers who want some sportiness in their life. Kia is looking at adding more Kia Stinger variants to the lineup thanks to the sport sedan’s success. The existing Kia Stinger features a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 255 horsepower with ease. GT trims and above feature a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine that produces a thrilling 365 horsepower.
So Many Kia Stinger Variants
“We’re going to be very aggressive for the lifecycle of this vehicle, we’re going to be very aggressive with the colors,” said Orth Hedrick, product planner, Kia North America. “It’s a fashion statement. You have to keep the car going with powertrain variants and other stuff coming down the road.” One such example of a Kia Stinger variant is the Kia Stinger GT Atlantica, available this summer. That model will see a limited production run of just 500 units, making it one of the most unique sport sedans on the market.
Rumor has it that a V8-powered Kia Stinger could be in production for the United States market. The rumor stems from an interview with Kevin Hepworth, general manager of media and corporate communications for Kia Australia. If true, the V8 would likely come from a sister model and produce 420 horsepower.
