Holiday Classic Movies for the Whole Family
The holidays are all about spending time with family, so this December, curl up on the couch with your kids and introduce them to some of the holiday classic movies you loved when you were young. In case you’ve forgotten them, we’ve put together a list of some of the best family holiday movies ever made.
If your kids are still into cartoons, there are tons of options out there for you, from 1960s films to modern classics. A Charlie Brown Christmas, for instance, has been watched by generation after generation, and its message—not to mention the iconic “Charlie Brown tree”image—hold true even more than 50 years later.
The original How the Grinch Stole Christmas from 1966 is another fantastic movie, with some of the best music in a Christmas film ever made. Your kids will be singing“Welcome Christmas” all month. And don’t forget 1964’s Claymation Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, or the 1984 Mickey’s Christmas Carol.
If you want to get your teens on the couch with you for a few rounds of Christmas movies, it’s a little trickier, but there are amazing live-action Christmas movies from the last few decades your kids will love, like A Christmas Story, Home Alone, and The Santa Claus. Head to your local library to pick some up before all the Christmas movies get cleaned out!
