Kia Unveils the 2020 Kia Soul
The Kia Soul is a quirky, stylish car that’s as practical as it is fun to drive. This subcompact has always been a hit with drivers looking for something that will stand out, as well as those who want an option that delivers lots of value for a low cost.
Now there’s a new generation of this popular subcompact model to look forward to. In November of 2018, Kia debuted the 2020 Kia Soul at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. The third generation gets updates to its exterior design, its interior design, and its powertrains.
The new Kia Soul will also be offered in new trim levels. There are six models to choose from—LX, S, X-Line, GT-Line, EX, and EX Designer Collection—plus an electric option. All trims will boast third-generation updates, like a longer frame, roof rack mounting points, and a bigger, bolder front grille.
Inside, the 2020 Kia Soul features new amenities, like available sound mood lighting with multiple colors and moods to choose from, plus updated technology including available wireless charging. The Kia Soul can also be equipped with the Kia Drive Wise package, which adds driver-assist technologies like Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Changing Assist and Driver Attention Warning.
For the first time ever, the 2020 Kia Soul offers an Intelligent Variable Transmission to go along with its 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine. A more powerful 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbocharged engine is available, too, with 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque.
