Healthy Alternatives to Ice Cream Your Kids Will Love This Summer
There is no denying it: we all scream for ice cream. Every once in a while, it’s fine to indulge in the dessert; but for all those other times, when cravings for a cold, sweet treat strike hard but you don’t want to fill up on dairy and sugar, we’ve put together a scrumptious lineup of healthy alternatives to ice cream that are guaranteed crowd-pleasers.
Everything is better when it’s slice-shaped. Cut watermelon into triangular slices and add your “toppings:” mango slices, assorted berries, yogurt chips, you name it. Tell your kids it’s “fruit pizza” and they’ll devour it.
Rainbow Fruit Popsicles
Pick up your favorite fresh or frozen fruits, the more colorful the better, and puree them in a food processor or blender. Fill them in narrow zip-lock bags, layering the pureed fruits in one-by-one. Freeze them and pull them out for your next summertime popsicle break.
Berry Yogurt Bark
Layer vanilla yogurt (or your family’s favorite flavor) on a cookie sheet of cake pan, then sprinkle generously with your ideal berries: strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, you name it! Freeze it for a few hours. When you pull it out, you’ll have delicious berry yogurt bark – soon to be one of your family’s favorite healthy alternatives to ice cream!
Here at Crown Kia of Tyler, we hope you and your family find inventive ways to cool down.
